All Diploma exams are online: the MCQ with TestReach, the viva over MS Teams. Places are limited and allocated first come, first served, and only complete applications are booked. You register through the members' area of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Always confirm dates there before you book leave.
What to do with the time you have
Sitting on 16 November 2026
This is the time for exam conditions, not new reading. Sit timed papers, go back over the topics you keep getting wrong, and stop adding material you will not have time to secure.
Aiming for 10 May 2027
Enough time to cover all nine topics properly around clinical work, if you start now. Plan to be ready to register the day registration opens, because places go first come, first served.
Planning ahead for your portfolio and viva
Start the portfolio before the MCQ revision feels finished. The Workplace Assessment and Clinical Case take longer to write well than most candidates expect, and the viva is a conversation about them.

Common questions
When is the next DOccMed exam?
If you have a place for November 2026, the MCQ is on Monday 16 November and the vivas are on 17, 18 and 24 November. Registration for that sitting has closed, so for everyone else the next MCQ is on Monday 10 May 2027.
How many DOccMed sittings are there in 2027?
The Faculty of Occupational Medicine has published two MCQ dates for 2027: Monday 10 May 2027 and Monday 8 November 2027, both in the afternoon. Viva dates for 2027 are still to be confirmed.
When does DOccMed registration open?
For November 2026, registration opened at 9am on Monday 27 July and closed at 5pm on Monday 21 September. Registration dates for 2027 have not been announced. Places are limited and allocated first come, first served, and only complete applications are booked, so have your application ready before registration opens.
Is the DOccMed exam online?
Yes. All Diploma exams are scheduled to take place online. The MCQ is held with TestReach and the viva is held over MS Teams.
